Built levels around gentle exploration, coin and map collection, discovering pieces of lore, and solving small in-world puzzles.
Designed spaces that encourage curiosity without overwhelming players, using sightlines and landmarks to pull players forward.
Focused on readable paths while still allowing players to wander and feel like they’re “finding” the experience themselves.
Key challenge
Making floating feel good on mobile and still guiding players through the level. I had to:
Adjust layouts so floating stayed controllable on a touch screen.
Use environmental cues (shapes, light, and composition) instead of UI arrows to subtly guide players.
What I learned
Designing for a magical mood and comfortable movement requires constant thinking about how players feel in the space, not just where they go.
